Review:
Kenny Lake Mercantile & RV Park was not my first choice of a campground close to Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, but it was available, so we took it.
Sites are level gravel sites in a parking lot next to the store and gas station. They are back-in sites with electric only. In Site #10, the electrical outlet was upside down. Hank had to strap our 50/30-amp connector to the post so it wouldn’t fall out.
Sites are very close to each other with no separation or privacy.
The mosquitoes were terrible in this location, so we spent very little time outside. Fortunately, we had planned to be in the national park all day, so it wasn’t a big deal to be here for two nights.
We would not stay here again if in the area. We would try for Tonsina River Lodge (my first choice) or Klutina Salmon Charters and Campground (where our friends stayed and which they really liked, though it too had a lot of mosquitoes).
