Review: North Thompson River Provincial Park is a little more than halfway between the U.S./Canadian border in Washington and Jasper National Park. The park is right off the Yellowhead Highway and there are sufficient directions to guide you to the campground and your selected site (which we had reserved in advance).

Site #23 was on the river, and though it initially looked very unlevel, it turned out to be pretty level. Sites are on dirt, and since there were no hookups, we pulled in head first to enjoy the best views of the river. Each site had a picnic table and campfire ring.

Check-in is 1:00 pm. Generator hours are 9-11 am and 6-8 pm. Rangers came around and checked on our reservation about 5:00 p.m. After dinner we hiked on some of the trails directly from our campsite along the river and to an overlook of nearby mountains.

We would definitely stay here again if we were traveling in eastern British Columbia.
