Review: This was one of the prettiest private campgrounds we’ve seen, nestled in amongst evergreen trees, along the river. There are train tracks right next to the campground, but we never heard any trains. The campground is also next to the main highway, and we did hear a fair amount of road noise.

We had hoped to camp at Dolly Copp National Forest Campground, but it wasn’t open yet. This was a good second choice. Sites were pretty level with gravel padding. Grass and trees separated most sites—not a ton of privacy, but enough room.

Friendly staff and easy directions made this a workable campground for us. If you plan to visit Mt. Washington, the campground is close to the Auto Road, though a 55-minute drive to the Cog Railway.
