Review: This park is great if passing through the Central Valley of California. You have to go by a shopping center to get there, so at certain times of the day it could be quite busy with traffic.

You hear the freeway and trains from the park, but once you’re at the park, you don’t feel like you’re in the middle of the city. The park borders the Kern River. Sites are concrete slabs with gravel in between them, very level.

Very clean bathrooms and very helpful staff on the phone. We arrived after hours and they had our packet all ready to go. It’s pitch black in the park, though if you arrive at night, you may want to scope out your site location first.

We would stay here again if passing through on the 99 Freeway.
