Camp Bullfrog Lake Campground

9600 Wolf Rd., Willow Springs, IL 60480

Date Visited: July 2019

Site: #29, BACK-IN, ELECTRIC ONLY, 50 AMP

We paid: $60 per night

Review: We had planned to spend 4 nights here, but I inadvertently booked a tent site instead of a site with electric hookups. They had one electric site available for one night, so we took it. Apparently, I’m not the only one this has happened to, so beware when using their online reservation system.

The campground is adequate. Our site was very unlevel, mostly gravel, but quite muddy from recent rain. You are located right on the lake and it’s a pretty setting, but not much shade or privacy.

This campground is operated by the Cook County Forest Preserve and it’s a nice location (close proximity to the Chicago area) if you only need electricity. Camp Sullivan is similar, but the staff at Camp Bullfrog Lake were much nicer and more helpful.
