Cherry Creek State Park Campground

4201 S Parker Rd
Aurora, CO 80014

Date Visited: July 2019

Site: #88, PULL-THROUGH, FULL HOOKUPS, 50 AMP

We paid: $41 per night (plus $10 per day for the state park)

Review: You may have to wait awhile in line to get into the state park, but once you get through the initial kiosk, everything is great. The campground office staff were very helpful and friendly.

There are many nice sites with full hookups. Ours was on Gold Rush Loop, closest to the main road, so we did hear some road noise.

Our site was very level on concrete, with an asphalt pull-through parallel to the campground road. There weren’t too many trees (some sites have more), but there is a lot of space between sites, so you do have some privacy out your front door.

There is a 7-mile bike path all around the lake. We didn’t use the restrooms, but everything seemed clean and top notch. We watched campground staff clean another site after the previous residents left, and they were very thorough and even raked the gravel on the site.

This campground is like a little oasis in the midst of a large metropolitan area (Denver). We would definitely stay here again if we were in the Denver area.
