Clinton State Park Campground 3

798 N 1415 Rd
Lawrence, KS 66049

Date Visited: July 2019

Site: #P158, BACK-IN, ELECTRIC AND WATER, 50 AMP (Dump station)

We paid: $23 per night (plus reservation fee)

Review: You check in at the main office and then proceed to either Campground 1 or 3. The sites are enormous and ours was well shaded. We were on a gravel pad with lots of grass and trees around.  We had to reserve two nights (probably because it was summer and a weekend).

The turkey vultures spent lots of time circling and landing in the trees by our campsite. We think they have nests nearby. Don’t leave pets unattended. Even though it was very hot, we managed fine in our shady spot.

You are not far from town (Lawrence) if you need groceries, Walmart or restaurants, but you feel like you’re out in the country (a farmer was rolling hay bales near our campground). We didn’t use the hiking/biking path because the trails were too wet/flooded, but they do have them.  Dump stations are located at the entrance to both Campgrounds 1 and 3.

We would definitely stay here again if we were in the Lawrence/Kansas City area.
