Review

Escondido RV Resort is conveniently located right off the I-15 freeway, but you do hear freeway noise even inside your rig. The sites are really packed into this urban campground that’s built into the side of a hill. Site 9, where we were located, was in one corner, making it very tight to exit because of the tow vehicles hanging into the street from other sites.

The check-in person was very friendly and helpful and the office and pool facilities were very nice. The camping section at the top of the hill is for bigger RVs, and you can access a public park from that upper section. There’s a private gate with a code to get back into the campground property.

This was a good location from which to visit the San Diego Zoo Safari Park (about 20 minutes away), and there’s lots of shopping and eating places nearby. Otherwise, we don’t think we’d stay here again. There’s no real ambiance or privacy in the campground, and you are very close to your neighbors. Plus, the freeway noise makes it less relaxing.
