Review: Flying Flags RV Resort is very expensive, even if it’s not a holiday week. But they have a lot of nice amenities and make you feel very comfortable. We were planning to do wine-tasting in the Santa Ynez Valley and visit Solvang, etc., so this park was perfect for that purpose.

They have a little restaurant (Feather & Fire) with an outdoor firepit on site and they make pretty good pizza there. The jacuzzi was working and quite relaxing. On the weekends, they have live music onsite.

Sites are a bit close together, but we had adequate room with a little bit of grass and a nice shade tree on this site. Sites are quite level and gravel, so easy to get in and out. The most expensive sites have concrete slabs and outdoor barbecues, but we didn’t need that. Bathrooms were very clean and the showers were spacious. They have a a pool table and TV in a club room next to the pool.

In 2024 we stayed in a less-expensive site with no picnic table, but next time we would get a premium site for $10 more.

The check-in process was smooth, with a lot of people working, even on Christmas Day. The campstore is well-equipped, including with lots of local wines. On our second visit, we were able to check in at 11:30 a.m., even though official check-in time is noon.

We would stay here again, though I would probably come at a less-expensive (non-holiday) time. It’s a comfortable place, centrally located to get to Santa Barbara, Solvang, wine-tasting, Lake Cachuma, and even Pismo Beach.

They have cable, so we were able to watch a UCLA basketball game!
