Review

This RV campground is located on the west side of Hemet, about 30 miles west of the mountain town of Idyllwild. It is reputed to be one of the largest RV campgrounds in the U.S., with over 1000 sites. Sites are on gravel or concrete and very level. Pull-through sites are more expensive, but back-in sites are very spacious and adequate. This was the best-priced campsite on our San Diego County trip, and we thought it was very good value.

There is a dedicated parking lane for RV check-in, and a registration office as part of the clubhouse. Plexiglass dividers helped keep everyone safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

For a desert area, there is quite a bit of vegetation on the property, with hedges separating sites from one another. We even had a grapefruit tree on our site with small but tasty grapefruits. The center of the property includes the clubhouse, pickleball courts, pools, a fitness center, volleyball courts and more. Wi-Fi was pretty weak, but otherwise the amenities were good.

For such a large property, it is surprising that the only bathroom and laundry facilities are in the main clubhouse structure. So, if you need to use these facilities, you may want to request a site closer to the center of the complex.

Every possible kind of store is located within a couple of miles of the complex, so you can restock whatever you need. This is a good location from which to explore Idyllwild, San Jacinto State Park, and other mountain locations. It took us 45 minutes to get to Idyllwild County Park for our hike. We would stay here again if in the Hemet area.
