Grand View Café & RV Campground is a good location to stop near Matanuska Glacier, or if you are looking for a midpoint between Valdez and Anchorage.
Sites are level gravel with not much else. The perimeter of the property has a pretty walking path and surrounding forest. In the other direction there are great views of hills, but we didn’t see any Dall sheep. 

Check-in was a little confusing. You check in at the restaurant, where the restaurant cashier is also the registration clerk for the campground. Things are done manually and there was some confusion about sites and payments. 

For an overnight stop, this campground is fine. We liked that it was only a 10-minute drive to MICA Guides for our glacier trek. But our friends didn’t like the lack of privacy and the obnoxiousness of some other guests. You also have to pay for showers here.

We would probably stay here again if we needed a place near Matanuska Glacier, but not if we wanted to stay longer.
