Review

Heritage RV Park on the Homer Spit is a great campground, especially if you reserve a year in advance and get beachfront sites. The views of Kachemak Bay and the surrounding mountains are incredible!

The campground office where you check in is part of a store and café complex. Everything is very clean and neat. The laundry facilities are the best we’ve ever seen in an RV campground—super clean with about 8 washers and 8 dryers. They have an attendant onsite to be sure that only RV guests are using the showers and laundry facilities.

Beachfront sites are pull-in so that you have the best views of the bay and mountains. Trailers have to back in and the hookups are on the wrong side for trailers, so bring extra lengths of hose/electrical cord.

The middle section also has pull-through sites on a grassy area. They still have good views even though they’re not beachfront.

We would definitely stay here again if we came to Homer. You are close to shops and restaurants on the spit, you can see fishermen, bald eagles, and seals from the campsite, and you can walk along the beach and observe the extreme difference between high and low tide.
