Review: We love this campground. Be sure that Google Maps takes you to the Fruita campground, as there are other non-contiguous parts to this state park. Check-in was at the campground kiosk; very friendly and helpful staff.

Most sites, including ours, have views of Colorado National Monument, and we also had a view of one of the ponds in the state park. The sites are parallel to the campground road, so you have a lot of privacy looking out your front door.

Not a lot of trees on our side of the loop, but they water the shrubs and grass, so there is more green than usual for a desert location. The sites are very level, on cement pads with asphalt pull-throughs. The patio area had pea gravel with a covered steel picnic table, which really helped with the heat. There is plenty of room between sites, so it doesn’t feel crowded at all.

We would definitely stay here again if in the Fruita/Grand Junction area of Colorado.
