Review: This park is a little south of Alamogordo and southwest of White Sands National Monument, 30 minutes away. The campground is right up against the Sacramento Mountains. On the way, you feel like you must be lost because you’re going through a rundown residential area, but keep going. You will get to the park eventually.

The campground offered little shade but had a beautiful view of the mountains, a cool breeze in the evening, and lots of birds, lizards and blacktail jackrabbits.

Our site was very level and quite large.  You can walk/hike from the campground, either down the road to the ranch house (3 miles round trip) or along the Riparian Nature Trail (1/2 mile).

The dump station was not working, so we stopped at the Alamogordo Visitor Center on our way out of town to use their dump station.

We would definitely stay here again if in the Alamogordo area.
