Review: This is our kind of campground. Lots of trees, right on the lake. You feel like you’re in the forest. Only a few sites have full hookups, but most have at least electricity.

The site was not quite level, but it’s on an asphalt pad with a big picnic table, and well shaded, so we still really liked this site. There is a big parking lot by the check-in area, where you can unhook the tow vehicle.

Office staff were friendly and helpful. There aren’t a lot of online resources that show a map of the campground, but there is good signage in the park itself, so we were able to follow the signs to the Camping Area with no problem.

The campground is close to the lake, where you can rent kayaks or go out on a boat. On the other side of the lake there’s a golf course and there are lots of birds and rabbits around. Other than our loop with full hookups, the rest of the campground was practically empty in the middle of July. Bathrooms are older but clean.

We stayed here because of its relative proximity to Cleveland and Cuyahoga Valley National Park, both about 45 minutes away. We would definitely stay here again.
