Review: This campground is right on Kabetogama Lake, which is its best feature. It is one mile from the Voyageurs National Park Kabetogama Lake Visitor Center.

Sites are gravel with grass in between, but nothing fancy, and pretty close together on the lake level. The premium sites are up a steep hill, but are much nicer and have a great view of the lake. Laundry facilities were very expensive, and the dryers did not work well.

The campground has some fire pits that they light each night, and it’s great to sit around and enjoy the sunset there. You can rent kayaks and canoes directly from the campground, so we took a double kayak around Sphunge Island (very calm and pretty).

The campground is about 30 minutes from Rainy Lake Visitor Center and 30 minutes from Ash River Visitor Center, and we did a boat ride out of Rainy Lake (recommended) and a guided canoe trip out of Ash River (okay, but not great).

We got propane at Jim’s Ash Trail in Calumet when we left. We might stay here again, but it felt expensive for what you got.
